Events for new Oakton students
The following events are planned for incoming new Oakton students and their families. While most new students are incoming kindergarteners, any new family is welcome at these events. If you have questions, please contact oaktonptapresident@gmail.com

SPRING INFORMATION SESSION
​​
Thursday, April 17 at 6 pm
​
Come meet our kindergarten teachers and other Oakton parents at this information session, as well as get a tour of the school. There will be time for questions and answers, too.
​
Oakton Elementary School is located at 436 Ridge Ave. Families should enter through the main entrance located off of the parking lot on Austin Street. Please contact oaktonptapresident@gmail.com with questions.
SUMMER PLAYDATES
Dates posted in late May. Generally, 3 playdates are planned over the summer, one each in June, July and August.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL COFFEE
9:15 am – 10:00 am
Parents and caregivers are invited to stay for coffee and donuts after drop-off on the first day of school. The event is planned for the school garden area, weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather, the coffee will be moved indoors. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Deadlines

Children must be five-years-old on or before September 1, 2025, to register now for kindergarten.

Kindergarten registration for the 2025-2026 school year is open and remains ongoing.

The selective enrollment programs (TWI and ACC at Oakton) and magnet school options lottery application is open through March 21, 2025. This application is embedded in the online registration form for kindergarten students.

The TWI program is available without entering the lottery to all Spanish-speaking students who are eligible and accept English Learner services in grades K-5. To find out if your child qualifies for EL services, contact Amada Zamudio at zamudioa@district65.net

Eventos por estudiantes nuevos de Oakton
Los siguientes eventos están previstos para los nuevos estudiantes de Oakton y sus familias. Aunque la mayoría de los estudiantes nuevos son alumnos de jardín de infancia, cualquier familia nueva es bienvenida a estos eventos. INFORMATIVOS DE PRIMAVERA DE 2025
Aprenda de los maestros de kínder acerca de nuestros programas magnet, haga un tour de la escuela, conozca a las familias de los estudiantes de kínder actuales y a otras familias nuevas de kínder. La sesión será:

el jueves, 17 de abril a las 6 pm
Habrá traducción a español. Si tiene un estudiante que va a entrar a kínder, por favor reserve la fecha y RSVP aquí. Si conoce a estudiantes que vayan a entrar a kínder en el área de Oakton o familias interesadas en los programas magnet (ACC y TWI), por favor comparta esta información.

CITAS DE VERANO
Las fechas se publican a finales de mayo. En general, se prevén 3 citas durante el verano, una en junio, otra en julio y otra en agosto.

ENCUENTRO DE LOS PADRES DURANTE EL PRIMER DÍA DEL NUEVO AÑO ESCOLAR
9:15 am – 10:00 am
Los padres están invitados a quedarse para café y donas después de dejar a los niños en la escuela el primer día del nuevo año escolar. El evento está planeado para el patio de recreo del Kindergarten, si el tiempo lo permite. ¡Nos vemos!

Los niños deben tener cinco años cumplidos el 1 de septiembre de 2025 o antes para inscribirse ahora en el jardín de infancia.

La inscripción para kindergarten para el año escolar 2025-2026 está abierta y continúa.

La solicitud de lotería para los programas de inscripción selectiva (TWI y ACC en Oakton) y las opciones de escuelas magnet está abierta hasta el 21 de marzo de 2025. Esta solicitud está incluida en el formulario de inscripción en línea para los estudiantes de kindergarten.

El programa TWI está disponible sin participar en la lotería para todos los estudiantes de habla hispana que sean elegibles y acepten los servicios para Estudiantes de inglés (EL). Para averiguar si su hijo califica para los servicios de EL, comuníquese con Amada Zamudio en zamudioa@district65.net
